God’s generosity is unparalleled. But, by asking Him for help, you can surely become more generous. Here’s a weekly prayer that will help you live by His Word and find opportunities to help others.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of this beautiful new day and for the blessing of the whole week ahead, full of possibilities and opportunities to live Your Holy Word. Lord, this week I want to focus on being generous.
You gave us your only son because you love and care about us. Your son died on the cross to bring us salvation. I know that this is the ultimate sacrifice and an example of your generosity. By sacrificing your son, you showed us how generosity is born out of perfect love. I want to live in line with your Word and be a vessel of that perfect love. Show me who I can help today and through this week. Let the people I help feel your love. Let them know you, through me.
Lord, help me give with an open and humble heart. Help me give without thinking of what I stand to gain or lose. Let me give with a smile on my face, asking for no earthly recognition but safe in the knowledge that You who sees all things, will see and bless my efforts. Let me receive your direction and guidance as I go into this week. You have blessed me greatly. Let me pass your blessing to another person this week. This prayer I ask in Jesus’s name. Amen.
Bible verse to reflect on this week’s prayer: “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-8.
