There are many celebrities out there that have managed to stay squeaky clean. But sadly, some celebrities have done time in prison. Their offenses range from drug or alcohol charges to even more serious crimes like assault.
Some of these celebrities have been released and have gone on to redeem themselves. We’re so glad they were able to beat the system and get back on track! And as for those who didn’t learn their lesson…. they’re still not walking free today. Here are seven celebs who’ve spent time in jail.
1. Amy Locane

Amy Locane began her second sentence after her DUI charge in 2010. She previously served over three years in prison for vehicular homicide and assault. “I definitely know what’s going on. When I came in last time, I didn’t have a clue. I didn’t really know how things worked and how you can ask certain officers for things. Prison prepared me for my second go-around. I have a huge fear right now that my kids are gonna forget me. I won’t be home until my oldest is 18 and my youngest is 16. I cannot even think about that,” said Amy.
2. Felicity Huffman

Felicity Huffman served time after her involvement in a college admission scandal. She was accused of being a part of a scheme to help her daughter cheat on the SATs. Huffman paid $15,000 to a service to have her daughter’s test scores increased.
“In my desperation to be a good mother I talked myself into believing that all I was doing was giving my daughter a fair shot. I see the irony in that statement now because what I have done is the opposite of fair. I have broken the law, deceived the educational community, betrayed my daughter and failed my family,” Felicity said.
3. Khloe Kardashian

In 2008, Khloe was arrested for DUI. She was ordered to take an alcohol education class. After missing the class, she violated her parole and was then sentenced to 30 days in jail. Her scandal behind bars was documented on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.” Fans were shocked by her behavior.
4. Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton was arrested for DUI in 2006. Several months after the incident, she was given three years of probation along with alcohol education classes. On violating her probation, she was sentenced to 45 days in jail.
After four days behind bars, her lawyer got her reassigned to monitored house arrest for 40 days, due to a medical emergency. The next day she was summoned to court, where she was mandated to complete her time in jail. After returning to prison, she served half of her sentence and was released for good behavior and due to overcrowding.
5. Justin Bieber

Bieber was arrested for drag racing and driving under the influence in Miami. He also admitted to the police that he had been smoking weed and taking prescription medication. Biber was charged with DUI, resisting arrest, and also driving without a valid driver’s license. He was jailed for 24 hours. Justin made a $50,000 donation to a youth charity and completed 12 hours of anger management counseling and alcohol education classes.
6. Robert Downey Jr.

Downey Jr. has had his share of run-ins with the law. For example, in 1996, he was pulled over for speeding and ended up being arrested on charges of DUI and for having heroin, crack, cocaine, and a gun in his car. The actor spent time in jail and rehab, but after violating his parole, he was sentenced to six months in jail.
7. Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney went to prison for nine days in 1980 after he was caught trying to enter Japan with approximately eight ounces of marijuana and a large quantity of hashish hidden in his luggage. Although he was never formally arrested, he was held in a detention cell at Narita Airport and was questioned vigorously before being released.
